六、倫理道德類(尊老、愛幼、愛心)

　　倫理 ethics , moral principle

　　It is important and realistic to respect basic value of ethics , basic principles and basic norms .

　　因此，尊重倫理的基本價值、基本原則和基本規(guī)范具有極大的重要性和現(xiàn)實性。

　　Insist on your moral principle , particulaly in face of hard choice .

　　堅持自己的道德準(zhǔn)則，特別是面臨困難抉擇的時候。

　　道德 moral , morality

　　Moral values cannot be taught in a vacuum .

　　道德價值觀的教育不能脫離實際。

　　Law and morality are the bulwark of society .

　　法律和道德是社會的防御工具。

　　老年人 aged father , senior citizens , old and helpless parents , elderly people , the old

　　Senior citizens long for a more predictable and secure future .

　　老年人渴望有一個更穩(wěn)定、更可預(yù)見的未來。

　　Most elderly people notice that their sleep is interrupted by other changes in their bodies .

　　大部分老年人已經(jīng)注意到身體上的變化常常防礙他們的睡眠。

　　There was social intercourse between the old and the young .

　　老年人與年輕人之間有社會交往。

　　逃避責(zé)任 shirk the duty , shun the responsibilities

　　Today , however , many young people not only shirk this duty , but insist that it is actually the duty of parents to do all they can to care for them, even as adults .

　　然而當(dāng)今，許多年輕人不僅逃避這種責(zé)任，還堅持認(rèn)為父母實際上有義務(wù)盡己所能照顧他們，即使他們已經(jīng)成年。

　　To begin with , relevant laws and regulations should be made to severely punish those who shun the responsibilities of caring their parents .

　　一方面，我們應(yīng)該制定相關(guān)的法律法規(guī)嚴(yán)懲那些逃避養(yǎng)老責(zé)任的人。

　　虐待 mistreatment , be ill-treated , be neglected , be reduced to utter poverty

　　The prisoners rioted against mistreatment by sadistic guards .

　　囚犯因不堪忍受獄警施虐而發(fā)動了暴亂。

　　中國文化傳統(tǒng)美德 traditional virtue of Chinese culture

　　Filial duty is the traditional virtue and the main content of the Chinese traditional culture .

　　孝道是中華民族的傳統(tǒng)美德和中華傳統(tǒng)文化的核心。

　　經(jīng)濟(jì)支持 financially support

　　Finally the national policy to manage and financially support the agriculture long-term research should be designed and conducted .

　　國家需要制定和實施穩(wěn)定農(nóng)業(yè)長期試驗研究的管理和經(jīng)費支持政策。

　　嚴(yán)厲懲罰 severely punish

　　We should severely punish tax-dodging crime because it endangers the tax administration system seriously .

　　偷稅犯罪嚴(yán)重危害稅收征管秩序，應(yīng)予以重點打擊。

　　培養(yǎng)意識 cultivate the awareness

　　In addition , we should cultivate the awareness of the young that respecting the old has always been the traditional virtue of Chinese culture .

　　另一方面，我們應(yīng)該培養(yǎng)人們的意識：尊老是中華文化的傳統(tǒng)美德。

　　遏制不良現(xiàn)象 curb evil phenomenon

　　Only in this way can we curb the current evil phenomenon revealed in the picture .

　　只有這樣我們才能制止圖畫中所顯示的這種丑惡現(xiàn)象。

　　七、環(huán)境類(環(huán)保、節(jié)能)

　　霧霾 haze

　　The market for dust masks and air purifiers is booming in Beijing because the capital has been shrouded for several days in thick fog and haze .

　　近幾日北京持續(xù)被濃重霧霾籠罩，市場上防塵口罩和空氣凈化器的銷量劇增。

　　工業(yè)化 industrialization

　　I think nobody will disagree ( that ) pollution is a by-product of industrialization.

　　污染是工業(yè)化的一個副產(chǎn)品，我想沒人會不同意這看法的。

　　空氣污染指數(shù) air pollution index

　　The annual average of the air pollution index ( API ) showed a decrease tendency in recent 3 years , and put forward the air pollution preventing and curing countermeasures .

　　空氣污染指數(shù)(API)年平均值近三年間均有下降趨勢，并針對空氣污染提出了相應(yīng)整改措施。

　　橙色預(yù)警 orange alert

　　The Central Station ( CMS ) yesterday morning extended the warning of a strong cold spell and snowstorms by issuing an orange alert , the second-highest level .

　　中央氣象臺昨天上午發(fā)布了強(qiáng)冷空氣和暴雪預(yù)警，將預(yù)警級別提高到了二級橙色預(yù)警級別。

　　懸浮顆粒物 airborne particulate matter

　　Long-term exposure to airborne particulate matter reduces lung function and increases the risk of getting lung cancer .

　　長期暴露于空氣中的浮粒污染物可引致浮粒滯留在肺中，并減低肺功能及增加肺癌的風(fēng)險。

　　有毒物質(zhì) toxic substance

　　Nicotine is one of key factors related to tobacco quality and a toxic substance in environment , in fact , nicotine is the major harmful ingredient in wastewater and tobacco waste .

　　尼古丁是影響煙葉品質(zhì)的重要因素之一，也是一種環(huán)境有毒物質(zhì)，是煙草工業(yè)廢水和煙草廢棄物中的主要有害成分。

　　空氣質(zhì)量檢測 air quality monitoring

　　All large and medium-sized Chinese cities will have greater air quality monitoring by 2010 .

　　截止到2010年前，我國所有大、中城市的空氣質(zhì)量監(jiān)督機(jī)制將會再邁上一個臺階。

　　有害空氣污染物 hazardous airborne pollutant

　　污濁的空氣 foul air

　　City dwellers inhale foul air .

　　能見度低 low visibility

　　機(jī)動車尾氣塵 vehicle exhaust

　　Gasoline service stations and motor vehicle exhaust also release benzene .

　　汽油加油站和機(jī)動車的尾氣也釋放苯。

　　乘客滯留 passengers stranded

　　A huge number of flights have been delayed or cancelled , nearly three hundred in Beijing alone , leaving thousands of passengers stranded .

　　許多航班已經(jīng)被延遲或取消，單單在北京就有近300班，數(shù)千名乘客滯留。

　　釋放、泄漏有害氣體和液體 discharge/ let out/ leak/ pour out harmful gases and liquids

　　On the other hand , a host of newly-built factories continue to discharge harmful gases and liquids , which seriously pollute the environment .

　　另一方面，許多新建的工廠繼續(xù)排放嚴(yán)重污染環(huán)境的有害氣體和液體。
