　　It is universally acknowledged that the development of the auto industry has brought efficiency and convenience to us. However, energy consumption and air pollution has also deteriorated. More notably, the rapid increase in the number of automobiles has made the roads more congested, resulting in low efficiency and making it impossible to realize the advantages that cars were supposed to bring, such as fastness and comfort.

　　How do we enjoy more benefits of cars and avoid the demerits of them? It is high time that we should promote the concept of "green travel". Firstly, we'd better not travel by cars unless it's necessary. Secondly, people should be encouraged to choose public transport. They can take a bus or the light rail or by underground. Thirdly, we should choose to walk or ride a bicycle if we don't go far away.

　　Green commuting enjoys many obvious advantages. For one thing, it can improve traffic conditions and reduce traffic congestion, thus to reduce the overall travel time spent on the way. Secondly, it can decrease transportation costs and fuel consumption, which functions to reduce operating costs of the city and save energy. Additionally, there will be a marked improvement in air quality because of the reduction of exhaust emissions from automobiles. Last but not least, green travel provides us with more chances to contact the nature and become stronger and healthier. (230 words)

　　眾所周知，汽車工業(yè)的發(fā)展為我們帶來效率和便利。然而，能源消耗和空氣污染問題也加劇了。更為 明顯的是，汽車數(shù)量的迅猛增加已經(jīng)使道路擁擠不堪，并且導(dǎo)致了效率低下，而汽車本應(yīng)該帶給我們的快 速和舒適等優(yōu)點也很難實現(xiàn)。

　　那么，我們應(yīng)該如何想用汽車的更多優(yōu)點并且回避他們的缺點呢。我們是時候推廣"綠色出行"的概 念了。首先，最好是不要開私家車，除非必須。其次，應(yīng)該鼓勵人們選擇公共交通，比如坐汽車或者是輕 軌，或者是地鐵。第三，如果路程不遠(yuǎn)的話，也可以選擇步行或則自行車。

　　綠色出行有很多明顯的優(yōu)點。首先，這可以改善交通狀況，減少交通擁堵，并因此減少花費(fèi)在路上的 出行時間。其次，這也能減少交通成本和燃料消耗量，又能起到減少城市運(yùn)營成本和節(jié)約能源的作用。再 者，因為汽車的尾氣排放的減少，空氣質(zhì)量也會得到顯著的提升。最后，綠色出行給我們提高了更多接觸 自然和變得強(qiáng)壯和健康的機(jī)會。
