　　漢語是世界上用作本族語人數(shù)最多的語言。漢語與西方語言的一個重要區(qū)別在于它是以方塊字(character)而不是以字母構(gòu)成的。目前仍在使用的書寫系統(tǒng)中，漢語是最古老的。在中國，來自不同地區(qū)的人可能聽不懂對方的方言，但由于漢字有統(tǒng)一的書寫形式，他們交流起來幾乎沒有任何困難。漢語歷史上對團結(jié)中華民族發(fā)揮了重要作用。今天，隨著中國經(jīng)濟的快速增長和全球影響力的增強，越來越多其他國家的人也開始學(xué)習(xí)漢語。(186字/6句話)

　　Chinese is the language with the largest number of native speakers in the world. One significant difference between Chinese and Western languages lies in the fact that they are composed by characters, instead of letters. And Chinese is also the most ancient language among all the existing writing language systems. In China, people from different regions may not understand each other’s dialect, but thanks to the unified writing system, there will almost be no trouble for them to communicate. Throughout the history, it has also played an important role in uniting the Chinese nation. Today, with China’s rapid economic growth and its increasing global influence, more and more people from other countries begin to learn Chinese.
